Keep It Looking New
Full-grain leather doesn't need much, but it does need the right things. A few minutes every few weeks is enough to keep your harness bag looking as sharp as day one, and ageing the way good leather should.
Wipe It Down First
Before anything else, dust and dirt need to come off. Use a soft, dry cloth and go over the surface in gentle circular motions. This alone, done weekly, prevents most of the wear people mistake for ageing.
Condition Every 4 to 6 Weeks
Leather dries out over time, especially with regular use. A small amount of leather conditioner, worked in with a clean cloth, keeps it supple and prevents cracking. Less is more here, one thin coat is enough.
Keep It Away From Water
Rain and spills happen. If yours gets wet, blot it immediately with a dry cloth, never rub, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Skip the hair dryer and the radiator, both do more harm than good.
Store It Right
When you're not using it, keep the bag upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Stuff it lightly with a soft cloth to help it hold its shape between wears.
Let It Age
Small marks and a slight darkening over time aren't flaws, they're the leather developing its own character. That's part of what full-grain leather is meant to do.
